Sad Day

This has been a rough day for us in the Blogger community. For those unaware, Blogger has come up with new guidelines that won't allow mature content and nudity on their blogs anymore. Any blogs still containing these images by March 23rd will be blocked by Google. I'm not happy about it at all and it's left me confused about the future.

I've put a lot of work into this site and the fact that it's all gonna go kaput unless I remove all the nude images. I can tell you right now, I do not have the time to go though 2000 caps. Sad but true.

Will I continue to cap on another site? Possibly. Or I might just take this opportunity to stop all together. It's all up in the air right now. If I can find a suitable site that fits my needs then I'll most likely continue.

However, in the meantime, I have made a new page on Wordpress. I threw up a bunch of old caps to help get a lay of the land and to see if I like it. I'd advise heading over there and commenting, clicking each picture, and all that stuff so I can gather that data, try out their new Dashboard features, and determine whether this is worth pursuing.

Sorry it's come to this but hopefully the future will be bright.

    1. Let me know what you think of tumblr. I tried messing around with it but I don't think it has the options I like. I want to make it look a lot like this blog with the proper tags and labels for caps.

      Keep me posted! :)

    2. I just read the terms for this new rule. We won't be deleted, we will just be marked as private since we made blogs before the March 23rd date, so we still will have our blogs.

    1. Unfortunately, Wordpress' User Guidelines specifically disallow explicit content:

"We know that there may be different definitions of this, but generally, we define pornography as visual depictions of sexually explicit acts. Nudity, in and of itself, is fine."

I think you'll be fine on WP, SwitchHitter, but many cappers may find at least some of their content crosses this line. WP's UG also doesn't seem to clearly delineate between media types, meaning that even if the images used don't cross that line, the accompanying text or themes still might.

    2. Dang it, how did I overlook "visual depictions" in that?! It must have marked up with the obscure <fnord> tag. :/

  7. Spread the word to all the TG bloggers out there posting, but I think you guys need to read the fine print. Any NEW blogs created after March 23rd will be shut down. However, existing blogs will be grandfathered by being set to private which means, the bloggers have to give direct access to users. So, the other option is to basically directly allow access to all your followers. Not sure how this works, if they have to request it, or if you have to send out invites. But it's something to look into
