Neither of them had an easy time adjusting to their new roles. The new daughter continually complained about her new life and second guessed everything her new mom did. The mom had little patience for her daughter's tantrums. She was, after all, emotionally, still a child. Eventually, she took her daughter over her knee and used a hairbrush to adjust her daughter's attitude. It did not take long for the new girl to figure out that a foot stomp meant a red bottom. She did her best to be a good girl but her mom had a short fuse.
