I'm gonna be honest, I'm not sure if people outside of the class know. For me, it depends on the caption. I change it up for what best suits the story. I think in this case, the parents have no idea ;)
I like the idea of no one knowing who swapped with who. It would make for a truly interesting-educational experience. Each student really learns what it's like to live someone else's life.
